In a blink of an eye

It's been one month since the boy arrived. From the humpy first days to the calm boy now. How time flies ..... how far he has come to be....

Daily adventures at Daycare

Today, the boy watched intently as Kong Kong opened a durian.

Thank God it's Friday

Riko is usually not one who will diligently turn up for breakfast on time. She will take ages to start eating and to eat because she picks what she wants to eat in her bowl.

But nowadays, she has to turn up promptly at breakfast time, eat or her food will be eaten.

We call this - The art of vulturing.

Faces of discontent

Riko can never sit still at home. She'll look like this by my work table until she gets to go to daycare.

So, Hiro walks with Riko to daycare every morning. He'll bark when he sees us leave because he wants to follow too.

Our god aunties came for dinner. We had ice cream for dessert.

Morning walks include my breakfast. The boy is popular with the restaurant helpers!

Their morning walks include some casual walkabout but serious sniffing ....

The Kimi Syndrome

For some periods this year, Kimi used to wait for me and bark for assistance down the car. For no particular reason.... except to get extra attention. This went on until one night she didn't want to get down at all. She ended up being admitted to Gasing vet and her cancerous spleen taken out.

So now I get apprehensive when another kid does the same thing.

I just hope that Dori thinks she can get biscuits every time she gets down the car. Only biscuits...

A well-executed plan

I came home today to find Hiro sitting in front of the gate. When the gate open, he refused to move - blocking my car from coming in. With the commotion, the girls ran down the driveway. Hiro went out the gate, followed closely by Dori. These are the two voted most likely to escape from Daycare.

Nobody wanted to walk back into the house. So, everyone (had to) jump into the car.

A 15 second ride up the driveway, nobody wanted to get down the car without some kind of reward (marie biscuit).

Later, I sort of put two-and-two together about their plot today.
1. Send boy out to gate to wait from momma.
2. Boy to block the car.
3. When momma comes down the car, boy goes outside.
4. Girls run down driveway.
5. Stay outside until momma packs everyone in the car.
6. Stay in car until biscuit comes.

Amazing teamwork...

I realised I was conned by my kids!

Assisted disembarkation

Since his Marie Biscuit dismount episodes last week, we found that simply leashing and walking him down does the trick.

Keeping manners in check

After a public humping episode in the park last weekend, Hiro is now learning the ropes of walking together with his walk buddy.

It's spa day

Dori's time for shearing and caring.

Co-incidentally, my groomer also read about Hiro's adoption post on Facebook. So, this is the famous boy!... she said.

Introducing Hiroki

So after a week of probation and some nun violations, the boy has shown incredible smartness and remarkable progress with the nuns ..... earning his keeps officially at 6 Haruki.

He will give up his balls and enter monk-hood by end of the year. We are confident he will still get by famously with his charming good looks and personality.

Introducing Hiroki.

HIROKI 大輝, 大樹 m Japanese
From Japanese  (hiro) meaning "big, great" and  (ki) meaning "brightness" or  (ki) meaning "tree". Other kanji combinations are also possible.

Morning milk

A peace treaty was signed after breakfast. A bowl of milk each to seal the deal.

Hiro's 10-minute dismount from the dog mobile

Every morning from now on.... I have to allocate 10 minutes to board Dori and 10 minutes to disembark Hiro.

Now one bed apart

Last night, they agreed to be one room apart. Tonight, they reached a new settlement on their sleeping arrangements.

I guess the kids are slowly sorting themselves out on their own.

The morning after

There are still some momentary relapses into horny-ness but he stops when called out/ pulled away and goes into time-out.

Some divine intervention happened at Daycare today

The big squeeze home

Dori spent two nights at daycare. She was so ready to go home yesterday.... but was stopped because she could not co-exist with the boy in the back seat.

So, today she made sure she got into the car to go home.

Master and her slave

Dori should learn some bossiness trick or two from Sister Riko.

Checking the balls

Hiro went for his first vet visit today. He was very well-behaved. Handsome boy .... so said his vets.

Thank goodness he hasn't touch 40 kg. But I think he should lose at least 3 kg for the sake of his hind legs. Might be do-able since he hasn't shown signs of greed and gluttony yet.

Vet confirms his hind legs are weak from hip dysplasia. He should be feeling pain from it. So, he has to undergo acupuncture sessions until his legs and hips improve. He will also take herbal medication and glucosamine.

He was very calm while his body became a pin cushion for the one hour acupuncture session. Midway through, he grabbed the leash and wanted to go home. Luckily, a small dog show started and he sat down again to watch. Thankfully, he didn't think of humping any of them.

Vet gives him a clean bill of health except his Globulin. So, he got one week's herbal medication to thin his blood.

We will see whether he can be neutered next week. Vet said to go though a week plus of his meds to strengthen his legs first. He has 2 external growths on his abdomen.... which will be removed with his balls.
