The boy with one ball and two lumps

Hiro went for a pre-neutering check-up at the vet over the weekend. An earlier visit last month noted that he has only one ball and two lumps. So, the next visit was to have a quick ultra-sound to locate his other ball before surgery.

Thinking that the balls and lumps can be removed at one go (koadim under one sedation), we find out that he is tested positive for heartworm and one of the lumps on his abdomen is a mass cell tumour. So, he had a second visit for an ultra-sound under light sedation, to check his internal organs for any signs of cancer. The vet said that his main organs appear clear.

Since one of his tumours is aggressive, his surgery to remove both lumps is planned for 3 January. Then, he has to focus to get his heartworm condition under control (requiring 3 injections over 2 months).

His elective neutering has to be put on the back burner for now.
